I am a 42 year old female that has accumulated about fifty thousand in student loan debt. I am a social worker in a nursing home so I am making payments using the income sensitive repayment program. I have applied to Americorps for a part time position so that I can take advantage of the loan forgiveness feature. I would be open to others suggestions on how to reduce this debt more effectively. Does anyone know of any grants that help pay down student loan debt . Any suggestions welcome.
